  • DoD TransPortal – Transition Assistance Program– Website designed to assist servicemembers leaving active duty by providing information and resources to help in the transition period
  • Vet Centers– Provide readjustment counseling and a wide range of services for veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. Counseling is provided at community-based “Vet Centers” located near veterans and their families
  • VetJobs– Excellent VFW-sponsored site with employment assistance page (includes information for job search information, disclosing a disability to an employer, career planning, interviewing tips, small business ownership opportunities, etc
  • Job Hero– Excellent resource for veterans, including many links to programs/websites that may assist the transitioning military member
  • National Partnership for Workplace Mental Health– The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress provides information and training to prepare for and respond to the psychological effects and health consequences of traumatic events
  • Department of Labor (DOL) Veteran’s Employment and Training Service (VETS)– Provides transitioning servicemembers and veterans with resources and services that will help them succeed in the workforce
  • Transition Assistance Online– A database with transition assistance information and tools for servicemembers going from their military to civilian careers
